A Bed for a Phoenix,
released October 14, 2023
The time I came to terms with it was long before it really hit
I had blood on my hands a month ago
And in THE CAVE starts the crave
Leave it on the wall engraved
You can't recall what it looked like just a month ago
So you break it down to great renown
You always preferred a ghost town
You had blood your hands a month ago
And I'll say
I didn't know anything just a month ago
And they'll say
They wouldn't believe it anyway just a month ago
Today still feels like most days
As you catch yourself in a useful daze
The pendulum, it swings back to and fro
And that's about what you'd expect
As thanks to our common neglect
We didn't heed advice that told us we should take it slow
AMEN
You all look for money most days oh but i'm the one that's crazed
Give em a penny in the hand and they'll sacrifice the land
I don't know what it'll take for them to give it a break
Any other day we'd let it slip away
Anything to let us stay
At least they're on our side, right?
Cannot be a blight
One of these days, they'll be our delight
We'll take it with spite
